Described as sturdy and durable as the day it was built in 1666, The Castle stands alone in terms of historical significance. Though still used as military headquarters, Iziko’s magnificent William Fehr Collection is housed within its impenetrable walls. William Fehr, who died in 1968, was a businessman with a love of historical art. He acquired objects and artworks, specifically paintings, furniture and ceramics which hailed mainly from Europe and the East.
