Samuel Marks was a South African entrepreneur who between 1880 and 1920 was a leading figure in the industrial and agricultural development of the former Transvaal.

The Sammy Marks Museum Complex consists of the main mansion, it`s gardens and outbuildings,. The museum also incorporates parts of the original farm at Zwartkoppies, including the stables and coach-house, the cowshed, a wine-cellar and the 5 Victorian cottages used by his staff.

The mansion, which Sammy Marks named Zwartkoppies Hall, is surrounded by a beautiful Victorian garden. Guided tours are conducted every 90 minutes.
